PLEASE LOG ON TO MY NEW BLOG

Dear friends and family,

I’ve been meaning to write for some time as I’ve noticed that my blog is getting an average of three hits per month. Now between me, my mother, father and Auntie Grace, I think we can see that there’s a problem here.

So I went online to check out the other blogs out there about people’s trips to Central America, and you know what I found? Out of the 8,472 blogs currently being written about traveling in Guatemala, 8,376 have exactly the same content. There’s the photos of the village kids, the students from Spanish school out getting drunk, the same students looking unimpressed at the beach, them looking worn out after climbing the volcano - everybody’s even got a version of that one where I’m standing in front of the big yellow arch in Antigua!

The text isn’t even all that different - there’s the entry about how ugly Guatemala City is, the one peppered with Spanish phrases about Spanish school, the one about stomach troubles, and the one about how much I love my host family.

So. I think I can see what the problem is here, and I’m going to do something a little different. From now on, I’ll be writing a blog about writing a blog about my travels in Guatemala.

The blog that I’m writing about the blog that I’m writing about traveling in Guatemala will feature previously unblogged material, including entries of me looking for the cheapest internet café in Xela, and video footage of me uploading photos to my original blog.

The only problem with the blog that I’m writing about the blog that I’m writing about traveling in Guatemala is that, between the two blogs I find that I am spending way more time inside the internet café than actually outside experiencing Guatemala.

This makes things complicated, because now I don’t have so much material for my original blog (the one about traveling in Guatemala), which means that it’s really hard to come up with new entries for the blog that I’m writing about the blog that I’m writing about traveling in Guatemala.

Anyway. I hope you enjoy the blog that I’m writing about the blog that I’m writing. It promises to be action packed, and, I think you will find, highly original. You can check it out at blogaboutmyblog.blogspot.com
