Our School ...
A typical day at El Quetzal... For the most part, students study 25 hours per week, from 8am to 1pm, Monday to Friday. Students can tailor their own study program, but many find it worthwhile to spend the first two hours correcting yesterday's homework and studying grammar, followed by a break from 10:30 to 11:00am, which is a time to drink some coffee and talk to other students and teachers (in Spanish, of course!). After the break, it is recommended to have some conversational practice with your teacher - a great way to learn more about Guatemalan customs and society. You can blend this time with reading and writing exercises and educational games. In the afternoon, from approximately 2:30 to 5pm, the students and some of the teachers take part in a scheduled activity. We offer conferences, lectures about politics, history, medicine, culture, cooking classes, dancing classes, walks in the traditional market, local sightseeing, and more... We regularly schedule 3 or 4 activities per week For more information on our activities, click here. |
